Andy Gonzalez

Andy Gonzalez is a multi-instrumentalist and music educator in the Phoenix metro area. Andy is known for his work performing on guitar and banjo with Phoenix Theatre, Arizona Broadway Theatre, Spotlight Youth Theatre in various productions including Chicago, Scottsboro Boys, Always…Patsy Cline, and Hair. In addition to musical theatre, Andy has appeared on stage supporting other musicians including the award winning Dolly Parton tribute show Karen Hester as Dolly, The Band tribute Ophelia, The Harvest Grateful Dead tribute, in world famous venues such as Last Exit Live, The Rhythm Room, St. Elmos’ in Bisbee and ASU’s Gammage Auditorium. Andy also performs his own original music with his band Benja and as a solo artist.

Andy is also an award winning educator and has been teaching music and private lessons specializing in fretted instruments, brass instruments, songwriting and recording techniques for over 10 years. Andy graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors in Music, Learning and Teaching in 2020 and was the winner of the Outstanding Resident Achievement Award selected by Mary Fulton Teacher’s College Dean Carole Bastille for having “maintained the highest academic standards and professionalism, created and maintained positive learning communities, and implemented instruction with skill”.
